Glossary
Eden Engine: the store tells you to fuel it and manage its power. Penitent Gardeners: the crew you play, “aboard an armored, steam-powered train”. Revenants: hostile, named in the store text; the interview calls them a melee swarm. Corrupted soldiers: the interview’s second faction, ranged and fewer. The Void: the store says the Emperor made a pact with it. Rime: a tab on the character screen, not a word in the about-text. Remnants: in the store sentence it means scraps of settlements, not a monster. Zip gun: the crafted gun a developer mentioned for the demo.

Frostrail
Frostrail is a 1–4 player survival FPS by FakeFish. The Windows Steam demo is free. Early Access is Q4 2026, and the price is still unannounced.
Frostrail demo
The Frostrail demo is free on Steam for Windows (app 5090080). It opened 19 October 2026 and was extended one week on 28 October, with no new end date posted.
Frostrail release date and price
Frostrail is planned for Early Access in Q4 2026. Steam lists no day and no price. The free demo is separate from the paid launch, which is still unpriced.
Frostrail platforms
Frostrail on Steam is Windows only. Mac and Linux are false on the store page. PS5, Xbox, Switch and phones are not announced. Deck status is Unknown.
Frostrail system requirements
Steam asks for Windows 10 64-bit, 16 GB RAM and an RTX 3060 at minimum, 32 GB and an RTX 4060 recommended, plus 25 GB. The demo spec list says TBA.
Frostrail multiplayer
Frostrail is online co-op for 1 to 4 players on Steam. Solo works. Dedicated servers are not offered. Invite failures have their own page.
How to save in Frostrail
Steam and Reddit posts say Frostrail saves when the train passes a tunnel. No official manual-save key was found. A fan write-up says the demo does not save.
Frostrail and Frostrain are different games
Frostrail is FakeFish’s co-op survival FPS, Early Access aimed at Q4 2026. Frostrain is a different strategy game, out 10 January 2024 and free on Steam.
Frostrail guides
Beginner notes for the Frostrail demo: the train has to stay alive, tunnels are the reported save, and the Rite of Descent is the quest players get stuck on.
The Rite of Descent
The Rite of Descent is a Frostrail demo quest. A developer reply says both co-op players must reach it, and the highlight uses left click.
Eden Engine, fuel and heat
The Steam page says to fuel the Eden Engine. Screenshots show Pressure, Speed and Consumption gauges. No official burn time or charcoal recipe is posted.
Frostrail items and resources
Frostrail items with a public source: logs, the crowbar, charcoal (disputed), deer meat and leather, and the Rime tab. No invented drop table.
Charcoal and coal in Frostrail
Frostrail charcoal sources disagree: one Steam player describes a coal kiln; Frostrails Wiki reports no demo charcoal. No official recipe was found.
The makeshift crowbar
Players say the Frostrail crowbar does nothing until a quest step. A developer reply says to left-click the orange highlight once that quest is active.
Rime: the visible tab and unknown function
Rime is a tab on the Frostrail status screen beside Status, Crafting, Quests and Handbook. The store text never calls it an item you harvest.
Where to get logs
A Steam thread says Frostrail forests hold wood you cannot pick up. Only specific logs can be taken, and players use those logs for fuel and building.
Frostrail weapons
FakeFish described craftable guns and basic melee for Frostrail. The demo craft a developer named is the zip gun. There is no official best-weapon list.
The rifle stock
Players say a Frostrail rifle stock is fitted at the assembly station, not dragged in the inventory. Steam has published no recipe and no damage figure.
Frostrail troubleshooting
Demo reports: a server name under four characters blocks Start, the demo has no resolution menu, and that build has no controller support.
Can you pause Frostrail?
No Frostrail FAQ or developer reply says whether the game pauses, in solo or co-op. Leaving a session is a save question, covered on the save page.
Items disappearing
Two different Frostrail demo reports: batch-crafted tools sharing one durability bar, and fuel vanishing in co-op. A cause for “when moving” is not established.
Invite not working
Frostrail invite failures and waiting-for-players reports, plus the published four-player cap. Workarounds are community reports, not official fixes.
Clearing rubble and track blocks
Frostrail track blocks are tied to the crowbar quest in Steam threads. A developer reply says to left-click the orange highlight. No destroy key is published.
Clothing and workstations
Players say found clothes in Frostrail are scrap and only crafted clothes equip. A developer reply says a makeshift wrench repairs worn workbenches.
Frostrail languages
The Frostrail store page lists seven languages, including Russian and Simplified Chinese. The demo page lists English only. Japanese is not included.

Dated Steam posts for Frostrail: closed beta in August 2026, demo on 19 October, a one-week extension on 28 October, Early Access still Q4 2026.
Frostrail review notes
Frostrail has no Steam review score yet, the studio said on 28 October 2026. The demo is free. The Early Access price is still unannounced.
Mods, cheats and the console
The Frostrail FAQ says full Barotrauma-style mods are not possible. Smaller support may be explored later. No official cheat list or console is published.
