Frostrail guides
This is the index for the long pages. Each child page answers one problem. Nothing here is a speedrun, and nothing is copied from the fan guide Frostrails Wiki without a source line.
Page sources: Steam discussion: track obstacle (Russian) (accessed ) · Single-source fan guide: Frostrail Demo Dates: Next Fest Window, Content and Save Rules (accessed ) · Sources
Evidence note: The same publisher’s Steam store, API and news posts are not independent sources; information from that publisher alone remains single-source evidence. Community and fan reports remain attributed reports, not official confirmation. This page does not claim that every statement has been verified by two independent sources.

What I checked
The official overview and demo trailer metadata were checked against the linked store screenshots: a cab full of gauges, a furnace, a status screen with Warmth, and a rifle at a carriage door. The ten notes below are only the points those public sources actually support.
Ten notes before you leave the carriage
If a line is only a player report, it says so.
- The store calls you a Penitent Gardener. That is the crew, not an enemy. Enemies named in the store text and in the 2025 GamingBolt interview are revenants and corrupted soldiers.
- The train can be lost. The lead designer told GamingBolt that a destroyed train is a game over.
- Cab gauges in the store screenshot are labelled Pressure, Speed and Consumption. The same frame shows −2.0°C.
- The status screen shows Warmth, Health and Stamina, plus Cold Resistance and an Overencumbered warning.
- Players say a tunnel is the checkpoint. The single-source Frostrails Wiki guide disagrees. Read the save page before you trust either.
- The demo store page is English only, even though the full game lists seven languages.
- A developer reply says a makeshift wrench repairs a workbench, and workbenches have durability.
- Clothes lying in the world are described by players as scrap. They say only crafted clothes equip. That is a thread, not a manual.
- The Rite of Descent is a named quest with a developer reply. No cited source establishes whether “stuck at the 3rd home” is the same incident.
- Four players is the cap. Invite trouble has its own page.
Where to go next
Fuel and the cab are on the Eden Engine page. Clearing the track is with the crowbar and the obstacle page. Clothing and stations are together because the demo threads talk about them as one crafting problem.

Questions people ask
Is Frostrail a linear story?
The store calls it an open wasteland you cross by train. I have not found an official sentence that says “linear” or “not linear”. The demo’s length is also unpublished.
Where is the basement in the demo?
One Russian thread describes finishing the tutorial gun, crafting the crowbar, entering the basement at the barricade, taking a relic, then clearing the track obstacle. A separate thread says basement planks require accepting the quest first. These are attributed reports, not a verified map location.
