Charcoal and coal in Frostrail
“Charcoal”, “coal” and the misspelling “charcol” all land here. There is no official recipe on the Steam page. Two public write-ups point in opposite directions.

What I checked
I read the Steam thread titled Charcoal. One player says they could not find charcoal and describes a coal kiln and a smelter, wood press and anvil augment chain. I also have the fan guide Frostrails Wiki, updated during the demo, saying no charcoal item or recipe was observed. I did not open a kiln.
The two accounts
Account A, a single Steam user: charcoal is crafted, not looted, in a coal kiln, with a bench chain they name as smelter, wood press and anvil augment. This single report does not establish an exact item or workstation cost.
Account B, Frostrails Wiki, a single fan source: the demo build they played did not show a charcoal item or a recipe, and they treat the source as unpublished. Frostrail.org, a separate fan site also says the recipe is not public and lists charcoal as one of three fuels beside branches and logs, with no burn time.
The store page says “Fuel the Eden Engine” and never says charcoal. Until a patch note or a developer reply names the item, both accounts stay on the page.
What you can do with the disagreement
If you are searching because the engine is hungry, the log thread is the other lead: players say specific logs feed the train. That page is linked below. The conflicting reports do not establish a dependable demo recipe or cost.

How do you get charcoal in Frostrail?
Unknown as a confirmed method. One Steam player describes a coal kiln. A demo-erthe fan guide Frostrails Wiki says the item was not there. No official recipe is posted.
Is coal the same item as charcoal?
Searchers use both words. The Steam thread uses both. The game has not published two separate entries that I can cite.
How long does charcoal burn?
No published number. Another site says the burn time is unknown. This page does not invent one.
