Store list versus demo list · Checked
Frostrail languages
The full game and the demo do not advertise the same languages. That gap is why Chinese and Russian players hit a menu that is not there.

Evidence note: The same publisher’s Steam store, API and news posts are not independent sources; information from that publisher alone remains single-source evidence. Community and fan reports remain attributed reports, not official confirmation. This page does not claim that every statement has been verified by two independent sources.
What I checked
I compared supported_languages on app 3517740 and app 5090080 on 29 October 2026. The full game returns English, French, German, Spanish - Spain, Portuguese - Brazil, Russian, and Simplified Chinese. The demo returns English. I then read the Steam thread asking for Chinese, which says the store promised it and the demo client did not offer it.
The seven, and the one
Those seven names are the store’s interface and subtitle claim for the unreleased game. They are not a promise that the October demo contains them. Japanese is not on the list. A thread asking for Ukrainian did not add Ukrainian to the list.
Traditional Chinese searches still use this game’s name. The Traditional Chinese store title returned by Steam is “Frostrail”, while Simplified Chinese is 雪原列车. The 中文 page covers that naming. The Russian hub is separate because the invite question is large enough on its own.
Changing language
I have not seen an in-game language menu in the store screenshots, and I will not describe one. For the demo, players say there is no Chinese option to switch to. Changing the Steam client language cannot add a language the demo depot does not include. For the full game, the store claims the seven languages above. How the client will expose them at Early Access is not written down yet.
